Your qualifications determine which games and positions you are eligible for. Each organization you belong to manages its own set of positions and qualification levels. On the Qualifications page, you can submit new qualifications, request upgrades, and track the verification status of each one.

Viewing your qualifications

Qualifications are grouped by organization. For each organization, you will see:

  • Verified qualifications shown as green cards with a checkmark, displaying the position name, level, and verification date.
  • Pending Review qualifications shown in a yellow section with a clock icon, waiting for an administrator to verify them.
  • Rejected qualifications shown in a red section, including the rejection reason if one was provided.

If you belong to multiple organizations, use the organization filter dropdown at the top to focus on a specific organization's qualifications.

Submitting a new qualification

  1. Find the organization you want to submit a qualification for.
  2. Select Submit Qualification (or Submit Your First Qualification if you have none yet).
  3. In the dialog that appears:
  4. Optionally, fill in the External Certification section if you hold a certification from an outside body:
  5. Select Submit for Review.

Your qualification enters a "Pending" state while an organization administrator reviews it.

tipProviding external certification details speeds up the verification process. Administrators can cross-reference your certificate number and issuing body.

Editing or deleting a pending qualification

While a qualification is still in Pending status, you can modify or remove it:

  • Edit -- Select the three-dot menu on the pending qualification and choose Edit. Update any fields and select Update.
  • Delete -- Select the three-dot menu and choose Delete. Confirm the deletion in the dialog. This permanently removes the request.

Once a qualification has been verified or rejected, it can no longer be edited or deleted.

Requesting an upgrade

If you have earned a higher-level certification for a position you already hold, you can request an upgrade:

  1. Find the verified qualification you want to upgrade. An Upgrade button appears at the bottom of the card if higher levels are available for that position.
  2. Select Upgrade.
  3. In the dialog, your current level is shown for reference. Select the new, higher level you are requesting.
  4. Fill in any updated external certification details if applicable.
  5. Select Submit for Review.

A green banner appears on the qualification card showing "Upgrade requested: [current level] -> [requested level]" along with the date you submitted the request.

Canceling an upgrade request

If you need to cancel a pending upgrade request:

  1. Find the qualification with the upgrade banner.
  2. Select the cancel button (X icon) on the upgrade banner.
  3. Confirm the cancellation. Your qualification remains at its current verified level, and you can submit a new upgrade request later.

Certification expiration

Whistle Works tracks expiration dates for external certifications:

  • Expiring soon -- If your certification expires within 30 days, the qualification card turns yellow with an "Expires soon" warning and the expiration date.
  • Expired -- If your certification has already expired, the card turns red with an "Expired" label.

Keep your certifications current to maintain eligibility for game assignments.

tipWhen you renew an external certification, request an upgrade or contact your organization administrator to update the expiration date on your qualification.

Qualification statuses

  • Verified — An administrator has confirmed your qualification. You are eligible for matching positions.
  • Pending — Your submission is awaiting administrator review.
  • Rejected — Your submission was not approved. Check the rejection reason and resubmit if appropriate.

How qualifications affect game eligibility

  • Only verified qualifications count toward game eligibility.
  • Each game position requires a specific qualification and minimum level. You will only see games with positions that match your verified qualifications.
  • If you have no verified qualifications, the Available Games page will show a prompt to submit your qualifications.
